Jennifer,

Thank you for your work with EDIN. My daughter has had anorexia for 3 years now and I worry so much about her. We've had her in counseling and working with a dietician from the beginning. She just started college at KSU and is commuting from home. It's been a while since I checked out the resources available from EDIN but I'll look into it now.

Again, I am thankful that there are talented leaders and role models like you who are helping people with this terrible disease.

Hi Jen,

I hope this e-mail finds you doing well. Great fish pictures. Glad to see you like fishing. I fish when I go visit my family in Melbourne, Florida too! I live on a small lake here in Atlanta and catch some pretty good sized bass in it and it is just right out in my backyard. Do you do any fishing here in Atlanta? Maybe you are interested in catching some largemouth bass? If so, let me know! :-)

Keep up the good work on CBS News and I am sure that you will keep those Emmy's coming!

Take care,

Very Respectfully,

David

What happen to this couple is wrong on soooo many levels. Their homestudy must have been in place prior to their matching with Olivia and it must have been approved by the agency prior to them going to Florida. I wonder why the agency did not allow them to be fingerprinted there? or allow them to go home one at a time so someone could be with their baby at all times,,,,,,,,,,,,believe the answer is possession is 2/3rds of the law and the agency knew this.
Have you contacted the ICPC office in Florida? Were they the ones who required a new set of figure prints? Were they the ones who decided that the family's medical was an issue? I have a million questions.
An unethical Agency's and/or other adoption professionals abuse their power and the potential adoptive parents have to walk on egg shells and they are never allowed to ask questions
in fear of loosing the baby. My heart goes out to this family, and they need to get to the bottom of this, if not for anything but to be able to have some closure. They are now grieving as if they lost a baby to death. Hugs to them!!

One of my agency's successful clients who lives in Atlanta sent me the link to your news story today, and frankly, I'm baffled. This is not how legitimate adoption agencies work; there has to be more to this story!?!

If the Panagopoulos' medical information was included in their homestudy (and/or physicals submitted to the FL agency prior to placement) then that agency surely could not remove a child from their care simply by citing those conditions as justification after the fact.

Furthermore, if placement had already been done and the ICPC had actually been filed, the agency would have to file a 100-B to document the placement disruption.

Either way, the agency in question may be liable for DTPA and/or ADA violations for discriminating against the Panagopoulos family. It seems implausible that an ethical agency would revoke placement of a child this couple would surely have been prepared to care for simply under the guise of medical issues, given the facts of your story as reported?

One has to wonder if the agency opted to place the child with another family at another fee? Are they still providing the Panagopoulos with alternative placement services? Did Harry & Chene retain counsel in FL to go to court to seek an injunction or seek temporary orders recognizing their claim to the child as indicated by the placement documents executed by that agency at the time the child was entrusted to them?

There is obviously much more to this story; please follow it carefully. I have shared a link with the "adoption scams" group on yahoo; please let the Panagopoulos family know they can find support and concern there, if needed.

Thank you for drawing attention to this matter.
